I remember Being that little girl, Holding that daisy, pulling Each petal away while saying “He loves me” then, “He loves me not” Always hoping for the love that I could hope Would be the love that came from the heart I remember… The hope for that feeling, that gentling, that tenderness I remember… and yet, I couldn’t have believed The wonderful I’d touch as I stroked the dream into My own reality – with you, my inspiration, my rhythm To all the music that pours out of me when I remember I never ever felt this way when I pulled at those daisies I never knew the intimacy or the beautiful that would stir Within me when I am close to you, the one God gave me To make my every dream come true, to answer the prayer The hope that was spoken when I spoke, “He loves me” Never in a million years did I believe I’d know the wonder, the miracle of you When I pulled that petal from the flower The daisy that lies forsaken because I’ve found This love I have with you is a love that grows stronger Through the tears, through the fears, through the years That daisy petal could never have predicted The love I feel whenever I’m with you The love that will always assure me – love this real Could never be more beautiful that it feels when I’m with you Living the dream that my heart never envisioned, The dream that has taught me love is the whole reason for living!
