through kitchen's window
dreary, gray, cold winter day
in garden's purlieu
golden daffodils like sun
lift spirits, warm hearts, gives hope

Hi Sara, the sight of golden daffodils through the window will lift anybody's spirit ! On a cold winter day, they announce spring's arrival ! Enjoyed your Tanka.....

Valsa, Yes, they do. The antique pink hyacinth are now blooming but I have not looked to see if the cold hurt their beautiful blossoms. I am delighted that you dropping by. Sara

Lasaad, Your kind review is uplifting. So far those of us living in this house are okay. Our youngest daughter has COVID again. She has had it before, had the vaccinations and the booster. I haven't heard from her today. She did not sound well at all on Thursday and went to the doctor on Friday. Sara

Debra, Yes, that splash of color reminds us that spring will happen. There is crocus as well that can peak through the snow. I haven't had much luck with that species, and I don't really know why unless they require colder weather than we have here in the south. Thanks for dropping by. Sara

Daffodils are beautiful flowers but they require cold earth.

Yes, the bulb needs some chill before they bloom. I guess they would not do well in some areas of the world but maybe there is a substitute for where you live. Your visits are always appreciated. Sara
