Dad

Dad I wrote this poem Dad for you today I know that you soon will be going away As sad as it makes me, God has his plan You will be able to rest and be pain free again You gave me love and support all these years You’ve helped me grow and overcome my fears You are and have always been the best Dad to me I know I have to let you go, it’s the way it has to be You instilled the love of antiques in my brain And the love of the ocean and hearing the rain You taught me to be a good person and to be kind You have always been there for me and didn’t mind Years of wonderful memories will help heal my broken heart You will never be forgotten even when we have to part I want you to be at peace and soon feel pain free I love you very much Dad, you are so special to me 2/9/2020
