Look up to see a dome of black velvet lavishly set with crystals of starlight. And watch time confetti infinity, unveiling trillions of lights to the night. Mars and Jupiter share a reddish tinge as Venus and Mercury pierce night's haze. And though Neptune and Uranus are faint, Saturn's elegance evokes songs of praise. A pocked-faced moon garnering golden beams smiles as a cloud of bats goes flying by. And gravity pulls shooting stars to Earth, splintering night in the blink of an eye. Clouds inked smoky purple and ashen gray, shift hues, like chameleons out to play. (Sonnet) 5/2/2017
