Crying Is For Losers

Crying is for losers The message loud and clear I got this while I grew up Only babies cry Stop that immediately Don’t be a baby We do not allow that nonsense in this house I understood from a young age Even today When adults cry at me I feel annoyed They are damaged, weak. Crying is for losers Right Mom?

The majority of us had those hurtful things said to them as children. Crying is a natural emotion that relieves tension and sadness. Nobody should be made to feel guilty for having feelings. Thank you Caren. Take care. Shirley

I knew better than to cry at my house, and now my job as a counselor is to coax, encourage, and nurture people to cry.

Hmmm...I think I was severely emotionally damaged as a child because I was not allowed to cry it out. My father always said, "I'll give you something to really cry about" or "Only sissies cry!" Why didn't he realize if something hurts, crying comes rather naturally!
