Cry For Me
CRY FOR ME Weep and wail from the depths, and Shed tears until your eyes are dry.
CRY FOR ME Cry because of the forces being devised; Forces determined to revise my true history.
CRY FOR ME Cry because my ideas and ideals Are being tossed for proven failures. Many have forgotten that I am a work in progress. Many deny the staggering progress we have made, Not considering things that we have overcome, and the Many adversities we are yet committed to conquer.
CRY FOR ME Cry because thousands are seeking to cross my borders Any way they can, looking for a better life for their families.
CRY FOR ME Cry because I fear that I am no longer whom they believe me to be. Cry because I fear that I am becoming more like the nightmare from Which they are fleeing.
CRY FOR ME Cry because I am changing at an alarming rate. It scares me to think about what I might become.
