Cowboys
I've come to you unarmed with love's chains
Through green valleys, over mountain passes
To kiss the face that comforts my soul's pains
And walk with you among the sweet grasses
I've died many times, on the outlaw trail
And slept on hard ground without any fire
A life abused, that was painted in braille
To be read by those whose love has desire
I've found faith through compassion, freely gave
Allowed the coal black of my soul to glow
An outlaw whose worthless life you saved
And whispered with love my name, Ricardo
I've laid my guns down for you and you alone
And left the dusty trails where outlaws hide
I've nothing but love, I can call my own
Life on the run once lived, now set aside
Promise to holster my guns for your love
And lay by cool streams in your arms with peace
To hold fragile love close, regardless of
Until this body full of life does cease
