Cowboys
I've come to you unarmed with love's chains Through green valleys, over mountain passes To kiss the face that comforts my soul's pains And walk with you among the sweet grasses I've died many times, on the outlaw trail And slept on hard ground without any fire A life abused, that was painted in braille To be read by those whose love has desire I've found faith through compassion, freely gave Allowed the coal black of my soul to glow An outlaw whose worthless life you saved And whispered with love my name, Ricardo I've laid my guns down for you and you alone And left the dusty trails where outlaws hide I've nothing but love, I can call my own Life on the run once lived, now set aside Promise to holster my guns for your love And lay by cool streams in your arms with peace To hold fragile love close, regardless of Until this body full of life does cease written 4/12/14 for the contest Howdy Pard
