Covidpocalypse
Calm seems a forgotten emotion,
as we fight with anxiety;
Six feet deep in tension,
all across the country,
One by one we start to fade
nothing left of anything normal,
Society now a masquerade;
Toxic to touch, color it terminal;
Volume on the stream, silence;
Green screen of crowds, sad song;
This music with no audience?
Uncontrollable shakes, it feels all wrong;
Imprisoned in our memories;
We had it and didn’t know it
we were ‘here’ but not really
choosing phones over the moment
Reach out to a stranger with compassion
this is not the end, but the beginning;
Be kind to one another again,
Digital disconnect is healing.
