Computer Techies At Age Six

Children of today breathe computer ease. Things that take me four hours come instinctively to them. They can do in four minutes what takes me nine days. These born techies learn applications instantly. I cannot keep up, and I am wise enough to know it. They are all eager to help me, moving way too quickly. Doing six key strokes, explaining four of them. They computer the way the rest of us breathe. I wish they could slow down their instructions But they are six, seven, eight, and they are not wired to be slow.

Teaching virtual school has been an eye opener. I have learned more about computers than I ever wanted to learn and every six year old child’s computer prowess leaves me in the dust Shirley.

Ain't it the !%$# truth, Caren! Fortunately for me there's a lady in my retirement home who's a whiz at fixing computer glitches. I repay for her help and expertise with a bottle of wine or a meal prepared by me. / Maurice

Nice idea! I have younger help. Offering to play a game of Chess is their perk. My five year old grandson plays like my dad. He cheats

Aren't they are so smart and cute. It is sad that we can not know the future and get help early for those who will go the wrong way in the future. Sara

'They computer the way the rest of us breathe' is a finely tuned line, which speaks volumes of truth about our little techies. Now if they could just get interested in other things as well. Great write, Caren! :) gw
