Comfortable and Little Else
Not too long ago
you wore high heels
and little else;
they were uncomfortable
but for the bedroom, were perfect.
The hotel was nothing fancy,
just the best.
We are still alive,
perfectly situated now
near a local Hospital.
Shoes broad enough for flat feet,
feet old enough to be
a mutual topic of discussion.
A few years, hence,
we may be dead,
decorative cushions won't protect us
from fatal falls;
still it’s good to be here
getting on each other’s nerves.
