Color of My Heart
COLOUR OF MY HEART
My heart is like the colors of the rainbow,
a spectrum full of every human shade
bathed in the varied beauty of an ethnic glow
admiring all the differences God made.
It sings of sadness deep in midnight blue,
and sorrows with the bane of earthly flaws.
All of us are joined by a common hue,
the care that’s in each other’s eyes we saw.
Love can color hearts from green to sunrise
with gold that shines for everyone to see.
Beneath a coat of precious silver lies
a soul that is a dear commodity.
My heart is like a rainbow in the sun,
Crayola box with shades for everyone.
