Colorful

Colorful or Chimera Contest 8-30-23 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Colorful Separate the tangled tresses of black Into the colored strands of sheer rainbows, Release magic of marigold held back, Mystery of amber lilac in rose. Let sapphire soar again, where dreams wander, Free soft amaranth in a bashful blush Deliver cardinal’s song then ponder Orange pizazz, crimson inferno’s rush. Unbind the razzmatazz in raucous red Unwind evergreen in shamrock dances Untie amethyst thistles from tight threads Loosen silk sable’s haunting hues of romance. Liberate hidden checkmates of darkness In bursting jubilees, banning starkness.

I certainly can see why this poem was a winner. Imagine a world without color. I enjoyed your last stanza so much, especially your last line. Your poem would be fun to put music too. A beautiful melodic feel, a subtle explosion of welcoming sound and joy.

"silk sable’s haunting hues of romance." Lovely usage ! This is not an ordinary sonnet, but a sonnet of sparkling hues bursting into filaments of eye catching shades and aligning themselves into a beautiful spectrum. I don't know how to express my appreciation. Great penning Sam.

Oh what a profound and colorful sonnet this is, i love your alliterations and the way this flows as well as your chosen rhymes here are so captivating and flows in a beautiful cadence. Checkmates of darkness is such a creative line. Life so well defined and articulate in an artistic manner. How wonderful it would be to let sapphire soar …. I also love the line “ loosen silk sables haunting hues of romance” so much depth in your words! Impeccable write. Wishing you the very best for the contest

Isn't amazing what we can do with color in our poetry? Ink Empress and Hiya are especially adept at such. Yours is nice too Sam

Rainbow greetings, Jan! Thank you so much! So fun to play with colors for Constance' contest and write a new sonnet! Tried to get a dragonfly in there but, unfortunately, ran out of lines. Dragonflies are like neon rainbows! Blessings and hugs!
