My mother-in-law lived with us for six weeks. It seemed like sixteen years to my husband. She was in a wheelchair, and we had a kitchen island. If I took a step she was in front of me, no matter which way I stepped. I loved her, but she was always right where I needed to open a drawer. Funny poem, great photo too!

This is simply perfect for the contest Jan. I had to live with my mother in law for sometime, but it was my husband who had the problem with her living with us. xxoo

Jan, absolutely HILARIOUS! The title alone had me howling already. Way to go. You've laid me in the Isle! Oops! Did I actually write that? Don't tell my mother, OK?! Smiles, Gershon

Was caught like that by my father when I lived in Brooklyn! He was a musician who set 8 of my poems to music. Also my nephew's band set my poem to music. Demon, Demon by Ghost Funk Orchestra if you want to look it up. Peace & Love Matthew Anish

The Old World tradition of living with one's parents is rapidly overtaking American independence - but with resistance from the parents! Aloha! Rico

Rico! Sometimes our parents get old and frail and no need to toss them into brutal nursing homes. Some parents may be unbearable. Old does not mean horrible. I know some haughty young people. Arrogant as heck. We don't know what lies ahead. Panagiota xx

Why that nosey old biddy, depriving you of your privacy! May I suggest hubby find a job and get a place of your own? Love the photo accompanying the lines. Very nice, Jan.
