Coffee Thoughts
I sipped my coffee for a thought
that gulps had made my eyeballs pop.
Then raised my head to say as much.
To stretch my neck and crack the top.
When eyes relaxed I couldn't speak.
A drug like coffee would sedate.
My mouth forced open for the thoughts
to speak some words I had to wait.
When words came out as clear as day
to say the things I knew.
That still I wondered where they came
and if they were just few.
And then their came a time to listen.
To whom I spoke reply.
When all I heard was static snow.
The tv saying bye!
