Clown At the Abyss

Dark is the Abyss and Even darker where deep, Suspended by an elastic tether, I am bouncing in and out! A jack in the box jack that is me, A dressed clown, To amuse all those, Who see. Amuse yourselves, Pay me a price, Laugh at me if It pleases thee! Laugh and then, back to your life, Care not how we clowns feel. Even my tears Are there to please, My frowns, for You to cheer! When I fall, you Applaud, My blackened face, It brightens thee! Is not this dark abyss, With a human yo-yo, So much like, the world we know! 03/03/2020 Clown at the Abyss contest K.M Neumann
