Cloud
I wander places like a lonely cloud
Wander and go,
Go where the wind takes me
I soar through the skies,
Looking for respite
Looking for solace
But do I find it?
Can I find it?
I've forgotten my purpose,
Forgotten why I wander
Wander through the sky,
Searching for something
I have all the freedom I can imagine
Not like others,
Who are tied down by regret
I have all this freedom,
Yet I am not free
Not free to make my own choices,
Not free to go where I want
As welcoming as it is,
The wind is my master
It directs me,
Pushes me places
Places I don't want to go
I watch helplessly as once again,
Once again I am pushed
Pushed to an unfamiliar place
But when the sky clears,
I stay
Stay for what seems like forever,
Drifting endlessly in this void
But soon, the wind returns,
Reclaiming it's hold on me
This time I'm glad it arrived
At least with it,
I have some sense,
Some sense of control
