Music industry executive David Geffen was also a speculated choice, but Simon says she never even met him. Other names often bandied about as having been vain enough to inspire “You’re So Vain” are David Cassidy, Cat Stevens, and David Bowie.

I think she eliminated Cassidy, Bowie, Tayler, and Jagger and once said the second verse is about Warren Beatty (to get her pic on People magazine). Is it possible it is all about him, or did she wrote about more than one? ;);) Love her for keeping the secret!

Amazing arrangement, vocals, and instruments... Carly Simons voice is like a fine wine when singing this song. "Her song Nobody does it better!" Roger Moors James Bond was the quintessential British badass.
