Claws in the Wind
Claws in the wind disturb the stream,
Two bears collide in shallow spray,
Their roars dissolve the morning dream.
Claws in the wind.
The water coils in streaks of gray,
Sharp fangs reflect the sun’s last gleam,
No trout remain, they dart away.
Each lunge breaks loose a river seam,
The rocks bear witness to the fray,
Then all is still as dusk draws steam—
Claws in the wind.
