I am devastated, dumbfounded, dismayed, These people are so stupid, or crazy, They threw some hot soup On a painting by Claude Monet, These people are ridiculous, wicked, Who will listen to them? Not me, How can you believe what they say? They destroy immortal works, These people are so stupid, or crazy, No one will defend their cause, They’re like child killers Who come to talk to us about God. Je suis catastrophé, médusé, atterré, Ces gens sont si idiots, ou fous, Ils ont jeté de la soupe chaude Sur une toile de Claude Monet, Ces gens sont ridicules, méchants, Qui voudra les écouter ? Pas moi, Comment croire ce qu’ils disent ? Ils saccagent des œuvres immortelles, Ces gens sont si idiots, ou fous, Personne ne défendra leur cause, Ils sont comme des tueurs d’enfant Qui viennent nous parler de Dieu.

It is so sad that immortal works of art are destroyed by callous men who have no regard for the delight, such works of art will possibly give to the posterity. To create something beautiful may take years, but destroying them can be done in seconds. I can relate to your moral indignation dear Yaan

La Printemps is such a beautiful peaceful painting. To protest in such a destructive way is unthinkable. These two young people should should be made scrub the museum for hours every day to make them realize what they have done. Violent and destructive actions are NOT the way to successfully protest for a cause. Love your poem Yann.

Ruining a Claude Monet painting will only leave a bad impression, non? I saw activists for farmers throw at Mona Lisa, she thank the heavens was protected by glass! God bless ~Anaya

Enjoyed reading your Ekphrasis of Monet's painting that was attacked. It was covered with a Plexiglas covering so it was saved. People can do some very antisocial things sometimes. Your visit to my page was delightful. Sara K

Mindless vandalism dear Yann - I too am dismayed with what goes on these days. Selfish people that are intent on ruining other’s pleasure. Many love Monet’s masterpieces and they should be protected for ever so people can marvel at the artistry. I enjoyed reading your poetry with your feelings well expressed. Well done ! Disgraceful to ruin a masterpiece. What did they get for it? Such a pity Monet is one of my favorite painters. Hope they will caught and punished.
