As the morning dawns and sunlight Fades the darkness of night Stars flicker out and moon turns to dust And I recall the place of my heart Here, I reside in Joyville, where I smile Laugh and dance through the wonders As noon rests against my bare skin Caressing my heart with kindness Whispering soothing thoughts Into my soul and reminding me That wherever I go there will always Be this place for me, Heart City As the night colors the entire world In hues of soft grey and sapphire Where flecks of stardust capture my Spirit in a whirlwind of emotions My heart races and praises with prayers For the warmth of this city called Soulful There are places I go when I do not know Where the best place is… places like Inspirational, Enlightenment and Yes, even Despairsville… places I wander through When my mind needs feeding and my thoughts Need bleeding, like a feeling so vast and sure It reaches past my calm and pierces my core In these places, I know of the need Need that is great and rides waves of hope Lights flicker and create hues of flourishing Caresses that mingle with mystery and music Breaking out of the pain and sorrow and sending Grace, mercy, peace and promise… love so reliable It breathes inspirational poetry through my soul And I reach past the echo of discouragement Discovering the hand of healing, hope, happiness That makes a way, even when the way seems impassable A way through the city of Regret, Dark town and Sadville Into the heart of praise, promise and psalms that pray For a way through the weeds of wickedness and sin Into the Garden of grace with Salvation that will win Leave those dark cities behind and walk a mile to find Joysville, Heart Town, Faith City and Love that Lasts Discover the path to Light, love and laughter and you Will find that this life can become something good A part of your soul looks for this place where God Gives the assurance that He is always with you, Guiding You through and coloring your world in hues of delight Find your way – praise and pray – and you just may Reach your destination and the home that awaits!
