Christmas Poem
"Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given . . . "
Isaiah, 9:6 (Bible)
At Christmas, a magical dust falls on the world,
there is a spirit of giving, love, happiness and joy,
and we recall the memories of Christmas past,
and embrace heart to heart all those we love,
but remember on this day God's son was born.
Jesus was born and died for our freedom,
oh, Christmas does not come from a store,
it is a whisper in our hearts of giving and love,
a day for prayers, remembering, reflection,
it is a frame of mind, a sigh for peace.
God gives us courage to face this day,
for to some with grief it is difficult not to weep,
as the decorations, the silver and gold glitter,
only bring us sorrow of those who have left us,
God is speaking, it is time to follow your star.
So, enjoy the feast, the laughter with contentment,
pausing for reflection on important things,
do a little something for homeless people, animals,
embrace your memories of childhood Christmas,
glow with happiness and keep God in your heart.
For God and Jesus are always within your reach,
not just at Christmastime but every single day.
