Jan, you are such an exceptional talent and was only awarded a 6th place win in an extremely tough contest. If it's any consolation to you, your poem rates a first place with me. I hope Roy enjoys his hat!! lol

I was secretly hoping for a top 3 place as i intended to have the prize money donated to a souper who would benefit from it far more than me - still one cash contest to go so i may be luckier with that one.:-) hugs Jan You can eat your hat but only if its made of rice paper:-) hugs Jan xx

ha ha ha Tom I was only born in Birmingham in the same hospital as my sister so technically I am a 'brummie' but my parents were living in Derby when I was born so i don't have a particular accent for anywhere:-) hugs jan xx

Normally I'd not comment on a poem about the holiday, but I loved your Blitz when you first posted it, but hearing you recite it makes it all the more special. It comes alive with the lovely lilt of your voice, Jan. Superbly delivered!!!

Gee LuLoo it wasn't written with ease it is a very difficult challenge and believe me it is my first and last attempt at this form and it had many re writes, also because it is so long I guess few people bother to read it - I know myself i find very long poems a turn off:-( Hugs Jan xx
