Christmas Alone

Quote By Poet "Life is made up of many happy tears and many sad tears" Theirs was a perfect June wedding, filled with pretty flowers and a very tall cake. Then September came, the honeymoon was now over. Their love was being put on hold, he had orders saying being shipped to a far off land. Good byes were said, tears ran down their checks. Long lonely days and nights were coming, letters were written to keep them company. As December came, Christmas Alone sit in for both of them. Their first Christmas Alone, filled with very sad and blue times. Only their love could keep them warm, letters would need to replace hugs and kisses. A beautiful time of the year, had turned painful for the newlyweds.

Beautifully sad poem my dearest poet friend Paula. I remember some couples, relatives and friends of mine who were separated after the wedding coz of work, and the picture you've creatively painted with your words is the same as theirs. It’s so sad for those torn apart at Christmas for whatever reason. We should pray for them and wish them well, not only for Christmas but every day of their lives. Well said Paula… Belle

Newly weds will long to be always together. If they have to stay separated especially on festive occasions, it will be miserable for them. I can feel the grief of the newly married couple when they had to celebrate Christmas all alone in their respective places. A beautiful entry for the contest. All the Best, dear Paula

Ahhhh, sad one. I can't imagine how hard it must be for young couples to have to be separated while one goes away to serve in the military. Thanks for sharing this point of view to us. My husband went away for 6 months before we were married. He was in the NG and then he had short goings away from time to time during the unrest of the sixties to different disturbances but never for very long. Thanks to you and your husband for serving. That’s really sad, i think most festive days gets individuals to feel sad when not around their loved ones, it is really sad. For me christmas reminds me that its another end of another year, and makes me a bit nostalgic and sad too. This story is soul stirring. I absolutely loved reading it.
