Chilling With My Dog Sophie
Spring break is upon us, delighting the dog.
She’s thrilled to have me home.
We’ve been cocooned in soft blankets for two days,
I’m wearing pajamas. She’s wearing me.
We’re sitting in a recliner, watching show after show,
Not thinking, stress free.
Eating sausages, and taking big bites of cookie.
The only thing that upsets Sophie,
The only thing that makes her bark
Is a stranger coming to deliver a package,
A raccoon fight on the porch, or a truck sound on our road.
Country living with a dog, I highly recommend it.
It may be the most relaxing, loving thing you’ll ever do.
