Child's Christmas Laughter
CHILD'S CHRISTMAS LAUGHTER.
Catching each flake with a hello smile,
Eyes dancing with delight,
At the snowy window my first child
And the Christmas tree bright.
Red lights from the city outside:
And her lovely lively face has seen
Mischief – she opened the window wide
And flung a fistful of crystals pristine
At me standing behind,
Then turned and pushed freezing
Hands around my neck, entwined
And grabbed my arms, squeezing.
Oh, a hold so cold !
It made her giggle out loud !
Her laughter a beauty to behold
Icicle giggles of which I was proud.
