I'm the gingerbread man, never say can't, it's always "I can". I so wanted to always be ahead, but fate lay waiting, as on I tread. Stereotypes mean you know I fail, it's written in every children's tale. Life lessons seem to pass me by, so clever until I meet a fox that's sly. I envy the snowman, but it's still mapped out, his end is known, there is no doubt. Predetermined lives unfold, neither of us live to be very old. I wish to campaign for a fresh start, no destiny there to break your heart. The chance to be unique, I have a lot to give, just accept who I am and let me live.

Thank you Paula, possibly not what everyone sees when they look at a snow man and gingerbread man haha - it was just what occurred to me in the moment - thanks for your kind words

beneath the lightness of your poem is a serious message to which I agree...just accept who I am and let me live. I loved you used a gingerbread man...gingerbread is sooo tasty. Well done Di11y! have a pleasant day, Sara

Haha it was for a photo prompt - I've never identified with a snowman or gingerbread man but they do have a reasonable message about taking hold of your own destiny :)

This poem of many faces was so serious under a cover of lightness. It gave me a lot to think about. You have a lot to give, and you open up as the words detect your strength. May you continue to give until a 'ripe old age'.
