I'm the gingerbread man,
never say can't, it's always "I can".
I so wanted to always be ahead,
but fate lay waiting, as on I tread.
Stereotypes mean you know I fail,
it's written in every children's tale.
Life lessons seem to pass me by,
so clever until I meet a fox that's sly.
I envy the snowman, but it's still mapped out,
his end is known, there is no doubt.
Predetermined lives unfold,
neither of us live to be very old.
I wish to campaign for a fresh start,
no destiny there to break your heart.
The chance to be unique, I have a lot to give,
just accept who I am and let me live.
