Children Want Their Teacher To Love Them
Children want their teacher to love them.
They seek it out, waiting for a smile, not a smirk.
Devastated when they think the teacher is saying mean things about them.
Even more confused when they hear the teacher laugh after nodding in their direction.
Children want their teacher to love them.
They cannot wait to get to school when they feel this love.
They cannot do enough for that teacher.
It is devastating to start a new year over with a stranger.
When you truly love your students
You honor them by listening to what they have to say.
You respect them by giving them time and choices.
When you love your students
They know, and they will follow you anywhere.
And you will feel proud of yourself,
Not puffed up, but pleased, grateful, blessed.
So please remember this one thing.
Children want their teacher to love them.
