For Emile Pinet's Ottava Rima poetry contest.

The Ottava Rima is a unique and captivating form of poetry composed of eight eleven-syllable lines with an a-b-a-b-a-b-c-c rhyme scheme. It was developed by Tuscan poets in the late thirteenth and early fourteenth centuries,

Children of summer yearn for Gemini moon. To gaze at porcelain light beaming from high. As twilight kisses stars in mild midnight June, stalwart sun-kissed blooms soar towards sable sky. Soul's at peace, fusing with nature's mellow tune, but knowing scents will fade, brings tears to the eye. Fate seems fragile for blossoming butterflies, who crave to migrate where seasons harmonise.

I hate to know that everything goes away in the end, and most times even before the end. Love is so beautiful when you share it with the right person. Someone who never lets you sink in your vulnerabilities. Someone whose intimacy you adore because they make you safe in their arms. "but knowing scents will fade, brings tears to the eye." Always. Hurts to know and let go. Great write, always Silent.

SO, interesting how you capture the yearning, the experience, and the anticipation of loss so skillfully. The butterflies may be lucky enough to follow the climate they like through migration, but we're not doing that generally. Hopefully, we can accept that we may see the cycle repeat and feel good about all the signs that indicate the transitions.

Climate determines butterflies fate, 'who crave to migrate where seasons harmonise'. I think we would all want what butterflies crave, what a perfect season it would be. Wonderful Poem I love it. Happy Birthday Silent One, hope it was a great day. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

I often ponder on the fate of butterflies, how they live how they die where they go?

Those butterflies are strong little insects despite their size especially those Monarchs who travel for such long distances in their migration. I often think about them and how do they make it. Thanks for sharing this one with us. It reads like a good contender for the contest. Way to go. Thanks for dropping by my page. Sara K

So beautiful and soul warming! I love how youv written about children of summer! Now this is poetry at its finest: so very well woven, in a soulful manner with exquisite rhymes. So captivating and fitting diction for summer too! I need to try this form but mine wont look anything like this! I love especially the opening lines here “ Children of summer yearn for Gemini moon. To gaze at porcelain light beaming from high. As twilight kisses stars in mild midnight June” beautiful! Moon and june! Such clever rhymes! “ but knowing scents will fade, brings tears to the eye. Fate seems fragile for blossoming butterflies,” how poignant! And how creatively youv phrased such deep emotions! Sometimes, fleeting time does make us feel all sort of ways. I must say this is another one of my faves from you! Absolutely love this poem! Best wishes
