Childhood Porch
I returned to my childhood porch
Where I used to jump from the railing
Twenty hundred feet to the ground
I was horrified to see
This porch railing is now less than three feet tall
My daredevil feats at age eight seem less spectacular
Where is the other porch? My grandchildren ask me.
I lie and tell them that porch burned down.
