Childhood Dreams
Childhood Dreams
(The Golden Period)
The golden period of my life has just begun
The burden on my shoulders has slowly shrunk
Younger shoulders have I found to carry on
My passion with desirous achievements.
Turning back I look down at my ladder of life
Tirelessly have I worked with my hands so small then
Brick upon brick I cemented my future
In building my little kingdom of joy.
My first step I took with my mother so precious
My dreams into reality by my love be done
The future so resplendent was never imagined
One thing at a time I learnt to handle.
Bedraggled was I in my struggling youthful days
Dropped some unwanted yet won more precious friends
Slipped a little but grasped stronger footholds
Threatened at times conquered many more times.
Pride I not of my many medallions
Teach myself at every step
Open eyes and judicious ear
With a caring heart is one that is truly loved.
Surrounded am I with very loving young souls
Walk I with serenity in my haven of flora
Innocent eyes do come with wide opened hearts
Their joys become my joys, their pains my pains.
I praise the Lord for His kindness bestowed
Ruled have I in His godly kingdom
Ask I not God of His many visitations
Much more passion in store be by my ruler in Heaven.
