Cherry Please
What kind of pie would you like? I think of the possibilities – it is not the season for rhubarb, and I have eaten too many custard pies lately. There is not a pie I will not eat except raisin. I start to give her these choices – apple, blueberry, peach, pumpkin, lemon – then I think cherry. “Cherry please, “I say, recognizing what my taste buds are yearning for now.
I pick up my spoon
ice cream on warm pie
channels of sweet milk
hard sugar on crust
my pink taste buds are happy
I cut second piece
