Cheery Gathering


*
Sun
Shining
Azure sky.
Barbie fired up
Soon the guests arrive
Bringing food and cold beer
Children play while adults chat
The steaks sizzling on the barbie.
Drinking and eating with much laughter
On this bright and warm August summer day.

Tom, reminds me of tears ago, with my famiy, quite large, having a ball. My uncle would play the radio so loud. But the neighbors never complained. Perhaps they were deaf? Good poem form..loved it, glad you won! Pangie

I never read an etheree poem before. Could smell the BBQ after I got over it not being a barbie doll. Had a great laugh with myself, much appreciated.

Thank you very much Alesia, I had never heard of the form until I joined soup, I always challenge myself to get as near to a pyramid shape as I can. Before I joined soup my idea of poetry was it must rhyme, how wrong was I. I've tried many other forms but always come back to rhyme. Tom

A beautiful etheree. As summer arrives, households will become vibrant with evening parties and barbeques. Drinking and eating become a pleasure with barbequed steaks and bacon. It is a time of enjoyment for both children and adults. Belated congratulations on your win dear Tom.
