Cheery Blossoms
I recall the falling cherry blossoms,
how they could turn a dull Spring Day
into a vibrant heaven.
I stood watching people arriving home from work,
or just hurrying through the trees,
their often-troubled faces,
and cast down eyes suddenly lifted up
in such surprised pleasure.
Many smiled, even laughed in that colorful rain.
Children danced as they tied to catch the blossoms.
Being old and awkward,
I simply waved my thanks to the sky.
