Chased By a Glare of Day

It seems
no matter the topic
Love's always
periscopic

pushing its little pink
nose
into a heart

purring its way
onto the surface

like sunlight nudging
a tropical sea
on the morning rise

Be them truth
or be them
momentary lies

love is a garden
of starry sighs

how we navigate
our dark

feeling chased
by a glare of day

Hi Christine; thank you. Who can argue with love?! -- not always with happy endings, but I even remember most of my failures fondly. Blessings my friend. Have a beautiful day!

Interesting poem, Joe! Love’s always periscopic. You throw a little angst in there with: Be them truth or be them momentary lies. …then, we wonder at the final two lines. We have to ponder our way through. Love it!

Thank you, Kim; you made my day. We are often much harder on ourselves than God is. He knows well our fears of both dark and light. One often used merely as a camouflage, for the other seeming a glaring spot forcing us to squint. Blessings my friend.
