Pushing through the dark earth
With frail tendrils of emerald
Olive and jade
I feel the trinkle of raindrops
Caressing me into Spring
Pressing onward, I feel the sun
A brilliant embrace stirring
My petals to open wide
Show the world what resides
Inside – as Summer sings
Penetrating my stems with
A chilly melancholy frost
My beauty has gone missing
With the dying of warmth
Leaving behind Autumn’s laughter
Parched and frozen in death
My dreams are spent
As I welcome the blankets
Of serene white
Across my grave lies Winter
