Change Should Always Be Hard Earned

When change is hard earned, We know hard lessons have been learned, And we are less likely to get burned, By the kind of change we have earned, When we forget that time served, In giving minds time to be changed, For or against the change that is proposed, Lest the winds of change cannot be tamed, To blow in a different direction than first planned, As the seeds for change that we wish to be planted, Don't always come from hearts and minds, opened, Enough, to see that some seeds are not fit to be planted, And to the wind should be scattered, So, dreams that mattered, Are given a chance to be implemented, Before they are shattered.

Thank you kind sir. Age maybe gives one a change in perspective we did not have when younger. I find poems by other poets on time and change quite enlightening. They are a few of the constants in life. Bob Dillon and the times they are a changing is still echoes down the ages. enjoy your weekend David in NZ

Very kind of you o say so Daniel. When I was in Toastmaster, we had a speech by an 80 Year old Indian Lady on British rule in India and the mixed feelings she had after independence came. She likened it to being given a clock that need only to be wound and the face polished not pulled apart. She did of course believe it was time for change but she was not sure about the nature of that change and its benefit to the majority in the new country. She was an amazing lady and well respected by all. She may even be still around. Hope your week is going well. David in NZ
