CAT AND MOUSE

In this large house, unseen, I wander round, Climbing up cavities between each wall Hiding in secret places that I’ve found. This is one advantage of being small. Here Jack and Jill live with their new baby Along with an ancient moth-eaten cat. His name is Tom and he is so lazy. He should be chasing me but he’s too fat And spends most of his time there fast asleep. Sometimes I sneak and give his tail a bite When from many hiding places I creep Then quickly I am gone and out of sight. At night Tom goes roaming around outside Which gives me time to explore far and wide.
