Fog rises, mist clouds thoughts,
Logic fails, reasoning in disarray
Internal terror permeates the day
It's inner peace I seek to find
I created a safe haven
Where I can go to when I must
Whenever the world gets too loud.
I have my castle in the sand
Where I can finally let down
Walls, meticulously built around
My thoughts, myself, my heart
Where I can be who I can't be outside
Just castle walls remain, cool against
my back, warm in sunlight soft,
gentle around my trembling self,
stern against the world outside
Sharing it's strength with me
Empowering me to dare
Giving me the peace I need
Freeing me from my own self
