Caressing Our Souls

Is it not enough just to love, plants love water They ask for nothing more Is not love good enough to keep forever? Doesn’t the sun give you warmth? Asking for nothing in return We argue and we fight Have you ever seen two trees arguing? Where to drop their leaves? The earth gives us a home with life abundant We seem not to see all around is life We only see you and me forgetting The soul of the earth providing us with love The earth keeps us alive Never asking for anything in return We take from the earth and build our toys Placing them upon the earth We only see what we have built Believing that the tree of knowledge of good and evil is more important Then where we live Forgetting that the earth Caress our souls
