Can'T Win Them All
I am most proud of saving a sparrow
from being at one with the pavement.
I also saved a lawn bug from becoming
the breakfast of a black widow.
After witnessing the theft of my pecans by one,
I thought far less of squirrels.
I once attempted to sway an ant to change directions,
but he refused and got eatten.
While walking my neiborhood, I was frighten by the sight
of a german sheperd rushing toward me.
But he proved harmless and began to walk with me.
