I actually read this one first and it is just as lovely as the others but much simpler as if it were being spoken to someone you respect and care for.

Hi, Laura. Sorry I have not been around for such a while; in all truth I lost my appetite for poetry for quite a spell. I work nights, and after Christmas (which means total mayhem where I work) I was just totally exhausted -- feel a lot more refreshed now though! Loved this by the way...I find it all rather uplifting in the most charming way. My very warmest regards. :) john

The title implies a selfish lover, or could it be that the cancer is the affection of a kind-hearted protector? I read it through six times, wondering. -Cary

Hi Cary - thank you for taking so much time on this one. "Cancer" is actually a little series I have been working on having to do with the zodiac signs. So far I've written one on Pisces and Leo, and now Cancer. I hope that helps. However, I will say you are correct on your latter assertion! Kind regards, <3 ~Laura
