Can You See Me

I'm in this big world Can you see me? I have no family I'm alone in this place Can you see me? I'm here but unnoticed And that makes me invisible. I wonder does God in heaven notice me. I'm dirty and I barely eat on most days. I have a faint memory of a rich lady that had maids and servants, she had all that money can buy. She seems so familiar. I wonder is that lady me? Nah she can't be me. Because I'm un- noticed and that makes me invisible. Can you see me? I'm right here. Does God in heaven see me? Does he even notice me? I'm dirty and I barely eat on most days. Can you see me? 12-6-16 Alexis Y.

Very gritty and gripping poem, Alexis. Power to truth on what Victor said as expressed in your poem. Very in-your-face truth. Bold and provocative poem. Just my kinda action. Keep the love and knowledge flowing, sister. Love and joy to you.

I've had those feelings many times. I think many can relate to this piece Alexis.

Reminds me of that movie, Shelter with Jennifer Connelly, 'I used to be someone'.

I found it to be a tearjerker, but makes one realize it could happen to anyone. My pleasure Alexis. :)

Sometimes it does feel this way doesn't it? I think most of us feel invisible (good or bad)and that is why we use poetry to make our statements or our marks on the world. This is a mark right here Alexis, a beautifully written mark that says...see me, I am right here. :)
