Can I Carry It a Step Or Two
Take off that pack. Throw it down by your feet.
It will be there later, if you choose to pick it up.
Can I carry it a step or two? Would that help?
I could carry it a block. Let me help.
(Verse1)
Just sling it down, we will worry about it later.
Just fling it down. It will be there tomorrow.
(Chorus)
Come on over, my friend, and sit with me for a bit.
We will talk awhile, until that pack does not fit.
If you insist, you can run back to it later.
You do not know it now, but we can forget.
I could pick it up for you. Carry it a block.
Let me help you, for a second, let me help you with this rock.
(Verse2)
When you think you cannot go on, bring it over to me.
When you are broken down, I cannot let you be.
