in your eyes I see the reflection
of a gentle truth that embraces me
with rich and vibrant hues of scarlet
as night falls softly, caressing my
thoughts with dreams of tomorrow
when I’ll discover the inspiration
for a faith that fills my spirit fully
rousing flowing rivers of affection
forcing my heart to pour liquid light
in waves of insight and total serenity
joy that leaves me with only one vision
to seek the adventures breathing in
my soul, a knowing that glows with
sensations of intimacy and brilliance
shades of sincerity and wisdom that
pour through my veins in a wellspring
of emotions that cure my ills and heal
all manner of weakness, strengthening
me with music that beckons me to feel
full of grace and good will, dancing in
tune with the mysteries of pure kindness
blessing the one who knows the spirit
of God streams through my blood
awakening the assurance inside of me
that knows I am living on a prayer
undefeated by sorrows or grief, alive
and awaiting the day when I can finally
see the One who died for me on calvary!
