Listen to poem:
Inclined to thoughts of you Cool breezes much like a serenade The mountains call to me The many times we shared a cabin Remote from all distractions We’d reach up high into the sky And could somehow touch the clouds How now the mountains call to me Their haunting melody Persistent within my heart Longing to find where you have gone Somewhere out there in eternity AP: Honorable Mention 2021 Submitted on August 8, 2021 for A BRIAN STRAND YOUR PICK POETRY contest sponsored by BRIAN STRAND - RANKED 1ST

Ranked first because it is first "We’d reach up high into the sky And could somehow touch the clouds" Loved this metaphor.

...and Jack London never did get a win in any of Brian's contests either. ~ Just calling wildly.

Jack London is green with envy. You do more in twelve lines for the call of the mountains than London did in a long short-story for the call of the wild. methinks, anyway. Bravo, Line. :) gw
