Caged
Listen to poem:
in the dusk
i cannot breathe
before
tomorrow’s sun
has had
a chance to rise
the whispers stirring
nibble
at my sleepy ears
enticing
and beguiling
calling out
and beckoning
come play
be free
a gentle tug
at the door
to my cage
it swings open
as in a dream
releasing me
into
a gentle mist
in perfect harmony
i roam
till sunrise
