Cadence of Dream
You walk on the garden path
Spring breeze fondles motifs of ebony hair
Your smile-smeared face on the morning sun
Flashes on my unblinking eyes
As I stand waiting on the other side of frail fence
For the summer storm to pull it down
So I can reach you to hold your hands
And saunter together on the gravel walkway
Soak the serene shade of sprawling banyan
And reach the verdant vale
Weaving the tapestry of blazing spectrum
With bulbs of dew-drenched tulips
As they dance in zephyr
Its rhythm will touch our hearts beating as one
In the cadence of dream.
