Buzzing and Ticking

a buzzing annoys me driving me half mad I cannot concentrate on anything else it is monotonous, a constant droning Incessant buzzing, hurting my ears Causing me frustration and irritation I am ready to tear my ears off And the tick of that damned clock What is that all about? Others are taking their standardized tests But here I sit, distracted by the buzzing and the ticking Together, these two noises have immobilized me and my brain. The teacher walks over and glares at my computer. I am on number two. Have sat here for almost an hour distracted beyond belief

This is so cool. I think it happens to us all at one time or another when we are taking a serious test. If it is tinnitus then you are in my prayers. I hope you have a great Easter my friend.

So far so good, Bette. I have three little ones spending the night, and yesterday I saw 10 of my grandchildren - all of them!

I, and I’m sure a lot of other writers, know this feeling you conveyed. “Others are taking their standardized tests”. The feeling of not being like the others is annoying yet empowering in a way. Keep writing!
