Burning Embers

Burning embers, a flame that never left A spirit still living in need of a breath Just a word or a look could revive Dangerous feeling, fantasies kept alive The ghost of the undead only slept Holding the feelings for which it wept For precious memories they could not forget Burning embers not dead yet But silence is a shroud for secrets kept Are feelings allowed to collect a debt Please consider don't leave abused I'm willing, if you make the first move

I like your rhyming couplets..Sometimes in relationships there are some embers or sparks that need reviving..Enjoyed reading your creative work this evening..Thanks for stopping by..My deceased father-in-law once said that if one was careful in their selection of plants, trees, shrubs and flowers, they could have something blooming all year long..Camelias and pansies for winter help keep the landscape bright but now we have a deer population that enjoy those plants..Sara
